Andrea González

She began her career in 2002 at the Escuela Nacional de Danzas de Panamá, where she obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Classical Ballet in 2009. She was part of the Afro-modern dance company Coraza, directed by Mireya Navarro, and from 2012 to 2022 she was a member of Gramo Danse.

She has participated in several festivals, including the Encuentro de Danza Contemporánea de Costa Rica (Costa Rica, 2012), FICCUA (El Salvador, 2013), and the Festival Yucatán Escénica (Mérida, Mexico, 2014). At the latter, she performed in InterNando, directed by Omaris Mariñas.

In 2015 she participated in Buenas Intenciones en 1:19, directed by the Argentine choreographer Luis Biasotto, presented in Mérida, Yucatán, and in Panama City.

As a member of Gramo Danse she also performed in Mar del Zvr – Mito y Realidad (2015), directed by Mónica Newsam and Graciela Newsam, and in La Nacional (2016), directed by Los Innato.

In 2017 she participated in the competition Nuestros Creadores together with Sara Martín with the piece 24/7, where they won the Audience Award. They later joined Proyecto Actinio to present VenticuatroSiete on the national tour organized by Fundación Espacio Creativo (FEC).

In 2019 she was part of the cast of Morpho, la psique de una ciudad, by Gramo Danse, directed by Moisés García.

Two people wait for something or someone in the same space. As time passes, both express their anxiety and their calm through the body, gradually becoming enveloped by one another. Behind the act of waiting lies time itself—which, though brief, the “waiters” perceive as eternal—and the desperation caused by its slow passage pushes them to the edge.
