About the piece
Showing us her real self and “BrutA” –investigating the Brut that defends those excluded from normative society, such as a prisoner, a madman, a vulnerable individual –marginal or misfit– movement that calms, glances that connect, conversations and hugs that nourish.
Would you give a hug to a vulnerable exposed stranger? Would you shake the hand of a stranger whose body cries out for affection? BrutA seeks the empathy of the spectator, his or her connection with the dancer, the connection with what he/she is seeing.
Raw art rejects beauty, welcomes minorities, and embraces ideas and different forms.
About the company
Carla bases her work as a choreographer and creator on proposals for body movements and writings through improvisation, games and dynamics based on each body and its movement forms.
After her trayectory as a classical dancer, she went on to develop a professional career in contemporary dance, dancing and co-creating in different groups, ensembles and artistic projects, working with national and international dancers and choreographers.
Carla is part of Coco Contemporary Dance Company, wherein she created her piece «BrutA.»
