Jason Martin


 After graduating from the École de Danse Contemporaine de Montréal in 2012, Jason Martin performed with some of Canada’s most renowned companies, including Compagnie Marie Chouinard, Compagnie Dave St-Pierre, Daniel Léveillé Danse, and Le Carré des Lombes. In 2016, he founded ENTITEY / Jason Martin. Since then, his works have been presented more than 75 times across 18 countries on four continents, receiving multiple international recognitions. He has been commissioned to create works for companies such as the Wroclaw Opera Ballet (Poland), Taller Coreográfico de la UNAM (Mexico), Ballet Nacional Dominicano (Dominican Republic), Winnipeg’s Contemporary Dancers (Canada), and Ballet Metropolitano de Medellín (Colombia). Regularly invited as a choreographer and guest teacher, Jason has collaborated with Skånes Dansteater (Sweden), Taipei National University of the Arts (Taiwan), Ballet Arabesque (Bulgaria), the Institute of the Arts Barcelona (Spain), and the École de Danse Contemporaine de Montréal (Canada).

étude nO.1 delves into cycles of transformation, renewal, and reconstruction, focusing on the impermanence of the human condition. Guided by a sensory and dynamic dialogue between emotion and physical response, the movement seeks a state of complete and sensitive physical connection. The body thus becomes a communicator of the intangible, shifting from self-sufficiency to solitude, from vulnerability to determination, from provocation to resignation.
