QABALUM

QABALUM is a contemporary dance collective founded in Pamplona in 2020, dedicated to creation, performance, teaching, and cultural mediation. Formed by Lucía Burguete and Diego Pazó, the company has presented its work in festivals and theaters throughout Spain and internationally.

Alongside their collective creative and pedagogical work, Diego and Lucía also pursue parallel careers as performers with choreographers and companies such as Daniel Abreu, Jesús Rubio, Led Silhouette, Antonio Ruz, Elías Aguirre, Proyecto Larrua, and Laida Aldaz.

Their creations embrace the body as a narrative and poetic engine, choreographic craftsmanship as dramaturgy, and precision—both technical and performative—as a means to invite audiences, even if only briefly, into the infinite time of dance.

Gárgola

In Gárgola, two characters with no names or fixed identities seek one another, repel one another, break apart, and literally shatter into pieces as they attempt to cross the boundaries that separate them—from each other and from everything else.

Just as our ancestors created images and rituals in an attempt to invoke permanence, they strive to open a doorway back to the womb of an increasingly distant reality: what we call nature.
