Soul Chain by Sharon Eyal
Driven by Ori Lichtik’s immersive electronic score, the dancers move with astonishing precision through shifting emotional states that oscillate between ecstasy, vulnerability, tension, and abandon. Eyal’s choreography combines extreme physical control with emotional intensity, creating a universe where the body appears simultaneously human and otherworldly.
The dancers, dressed in costumes designed by Rebecca Hytting, inhabit a liminal landscape where intimacy and alienation coexist. Through repetitive structures, subtle variations, and rhythmic accumulation, Soul Chain generates a hypnotic atmosphere that draws audiences into a visceral and deeply sensorial experience.
The piece reflects Sharon Eyal’s ongoing exploration of the body as a site of transformation, desire, fragility, and collective memory. Both fiercely contemporary and emotionally raw, Soul Chain transcends conventional boundaries between dance, club culture, ritual, and performance art.
